Not quite the same thing, more like couch surfing but Is anyone a Servas host or traveller? http://www.servas.org
I was introduced to Servas through a Canadian m/c traveller, Ron Grant about 15 years ago. Free B&B with like minded individuals worldwide!

Some interesting possibilities there. Some are rather expensive at £50 pppn. Others are a fiver, but have no toilet. It is a good idea.
