Me & the tribe will be leaving home after the deluge has passed us by, so around about 3pm going by the latest wetcast
Was a cracking afternoon, last minute Decision after work
Got here at 6.30 so just got tent up and tea on before it got dark ( very dark here)
Got the bbq going and sitting at outside the front of the bothy
Watching a movie 😆😆. There is free WiFi 🙂
flexibility, the key to happy camping !
Hope you've got the canvas nailed down well!

the dark sky and visbility of stars, was fantastic when we were there a few weeks ago.
Just waiting for the weather to drop a bit in Gairloch, it's a wee bit mad right now!
Hopefully heading off soon.
Unlikely anyone is coming up the A9, but if you are check for closures at Slocht, big smash there early this morning.
Been a wild day but at 2pm the wind dropped and the rain stopped.
3pm the sun came out.

We are all in the bothy discussing important stuff
Good to see everyone yesterday evening. Many thanks to Craig for organising things.
Thanks for organising it LWR and to Steve for doing the initial fix.
Home again after another braw weekend thank you all.
cracking weekend thanks to Craig for organising another weekend of rain and Steve T for the run out to Gairloch and Ullapool great food and ice cream in ullapool20221001_160024.jpg
Cracking weekend, ADV Scotlands 1st use of the Barrow campsite near Nairn.
Here are a few views at sunrise on Saturday . . . after a rather windy night
Took a few souls out for a bimble around the Gairloch loop, with the first stop being the viewpoint at the head of Glen Docherty . . .
We popped down to the Slatterdale car park on the side of Loch Maree, just to take in the view after an enjoyable ride alongside the loch – no picture taken.
We then headed to the Atlantic Convoy memorial, through a rather heavy downpour that was being pushed along by a very strong cross wind . . .
After taking on some warming fluids at Gairloch we carried on towards Ullapool, stopping at the Loch Broom viewpoint . . .
Took the “normal” road back to Inverness and then onto Nairn and the campsite. Not a long days riding all in all but the weather at times made it a challenge.
Cracking short weekend camping with new faces and some old (some REALLY OLD).
Great to see nearly all that put their names down attending.
Barrow site gets a triple thumbs up from me
Thanks for a crackin' weekend guys, looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.... J. 👍😁
Great weekend of weather 🤔
some good / some bad 🙃
Great to meet up again and test out Barrow campsite as a venue.
I have some pictures which i will post here shortly.
LWR
The forecast was bad on Friday so I left after work on Thursday and had a awesome ride up arriving at 6pm
Friday morning was nice and some shopping was done and a short rideout was started until I saw the weather was changing so hightailed it back to the campsite.
20mins later the hurricane started..... .
At 1 pm the rain stopped , at 2 pm the wind dropped and the sun came out ...
Transalp hiding
Tipi ripped alite but still standing
Brave lads arriving
Saturday I was off to Inverness to visit Go Outdoors for a backup sleeping bag or something.
Then a little trip , Connon Bridge and up the A9 to Brora for a coffee and do a little bit of exploring.
A huge amount of roads to explore up that way so only scratched the surface.
Back via Bonar Bridge
And took the back road into Inverness again and had a little drive around the city .
Back to Nairn for an early supper (pizza from Lorenzo's) on the high street and did a delivery to the bothy for myself.
Awesome sunrise over the campsite on Sunday Morning .
Heading home joined Steve , John and Bob to East Grantown Railway Cafe , Highly recommended .
Had a awesome ride back via Tomintoul towards Aberdeen.
Brilliant weekend
Thanks for everyone who showed up despite the weather.
To the campsite for being very accommodating , to the lads who helped make sure the place was spotless when we left.
And all the help I had organising the weekend , looking forward to the next one at Barrow Campsite in the Spring
Great stuff guys,
The weather wasn't much better in Oban
Sorry I missed out, maybe next time.
