    It was time to get the 1250 back to Texas so I took flight to Las Vegas last Thursday, setting off Friday for Dallas. Just over 1,400 miles and I avoided slabbing it (freeways) almost the entire way. Not a lot of time for pictures but I did capture some video.

    I should have taken a picture of the GPS purple line, completely straight for miles. At one point the turn by turn said "make a right in 158 miles!" Texas is 75 mph even on backroads & provided you stay within 10 mph of that you'll generally be OK.

    A source close to me told a couple of travel stories tonight at dinner.

    Story One.

    Moldova v Scotland. Late decision to travel to the game. Flight to Ukraine (and back) £12.50 or so. Cheap overnight and 5hour bus ride to Moldova. Overnight in Moldova and great result. Inevitably late getting back to Ukraine so another flight bought for £3.50 (ok I made that £up).

    Story Two.

    Same game. Well organised in case it happened. Accomodation booked in advance. Arrival at nice hotel and told no reservation. "Must be a mistake". Bookings checked. Sarah, yes we have a booking ---- for 2022. Oops. New hotel found. Inevitably a dire place with awfull food. Good result though !
