The A719 and the Electric Brae, Ayrshire.
« on: December 13, 2015, 16:50:39 PM »
The effect of rolling uphill or having to accelerate to go downhill on reputedly Scotland's strangest road is not so obvious on a motorbike than it is with a car. Best of all is a pedal cycle. This is a great short video from The Science Channel;

It is on the A719 south of Ayr which runs to Turnberry past Culzean Castle and it is a great biker road.

Been there to see and experience it as I had done one of these strange phenomenoms on a bike many years ago (somewhere near Silloth?) but I'm sad to say it was not even worth the trip.

Has anyone else been but had a better experience than me?

A circular route of the south west taking in 'The Queens Way", "Raiders Road", Isle of Whithorn (no ferry required), Mull of Galloway (Scotland's most southerly point) and the Electric Brae - sadly, no electric bra's to be seen.  (Excellent day out though - did it yesterday) :-)
