Comfort Seat for Tiger 800 2015 / 2017
« on: July 28, 2019, 10:19:21 AM »
Tiger 800 Gel and Sheepskin covered Rider's Seat --- Buyer collects from FK10 Central Scotland ---£25.

I bought this seat second hand and I believe it might pre-date 2015 but it fitted my 2015 & 2017 bikes.
The vinyl cover has a few nicks at the neck --picture shows this.

I removed some staples from the covering, carved out foam and fitted a block of Gel.
The outline of the Gel can just be seen in the covering.
The Vinyl covering was re-stapled using a professional upholsterer's staple gun.

The Sheepskin cover is easily removable, being retained only by the seat "horns" and a couple of 3mm elastic cord loops. It does not move whilst riding.

Note. The Sheepskin sewing to make the horn pockets is also a DIY affair.

Looks a sound bit of kit, GLWS
Wonder if it would work with a GSA seat  ?? Mmmm

John,
I bought the Gel block from eBay. From memory it was 25mm thick.
Beware thin options.

Cheers, thanks for that, might give it a go.
Like the idea of the "horn" bits as a good method of attachment.

Now, where to find a suitable sheep ?  :D
I'll wait until Steve T comes back before any comments are made re sheep sh***ing  8)
Just got back in after being caught in a heavy shower.
Suppose that's the only downside to sheepskin seat cover, might get a little soggy, although I've heard they are very good in the heat ?

What's the pros and cons guys ?

Have a look in the Technical Section for a Gel seat guide.
Ref the sheep I have the blonde one (zin the pic ) for summer and a long haired brunette one for the colder weeks !
