New Spot Lights
« on: March 09, 2017, 09:54:45 AM »
Got fed up of my blue spotlights I had (3 mode crap) .. plus they had a habit of shaking themselves to bits .

Bought  new ones off Amazon , and noticed the same design on eBay , all wildly different prices .

Rats Nest

A little more mean compared to my old ones..

Got mine on Amazon , so no PayPal .

Review so far ..
Power lead is a bit short only about 30cm , I joined to some black mains lead , soldered , heatshrink and taped .

Metal bodied with stainless bolts and brackets .

The big bolt is a touch long , (I swapped for a stainless allen bolt I had just the right size) . But original bolt would do or cut to fit better.

Hasn't got the really annoying *3 Modes* flashing , bright , brighter...  Just ON , Off ....

Will update this thread with more info after actually used them and hopefully they don't fall apart .

They look to be decent quality & at a decent price, there was a guy on UKGser recently selling what looked like a batch of these for £60/pair! Let us know how they go.
I've just fitted a pair of similar but totally cheapo Crees' (£12/pair) to the GSA, wired through a relay and feeding through the D+ on the alternator so that they only come on once the engine is running (no switch & on with low & high beam). Have had one on the CCM for a couple of years and it's still working so nothing to lose really (they are Cree U5s so you have to remove the U2 chip to stop all that flashing nonsense).
Yours do look better quality though  :)

My spots go through a relay and then a switch.

Update to the new spots on rattling to bits there is a bolt that attaches the lamp to the bracket.
Lost one today so know why they supply spare bolts. Have now threadlocked all the bolts
